Guillen Ubiña was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mario Gleason showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 36 minute of play. Mario Gleason could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Guillen Ubiña made a huge save. A collision led to Sporting Buceo getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Vachon Camaño hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nardo Tuo to strike the kick off in the second half. After 71 minutes of play, Sporting Buceo's Nardo Tuo made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marco Beauchesne was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Nardo Tuo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Buceo the free kick.
