After 2 minutes, Gabi Batistuta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Candela FC and the Socavon FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gabi Batistuta kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Nicodemo Bureu might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emanuel Laurin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicodemo Bureu ran back to his position shaking his head. 5 minutes into the match, La Candela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Santo Pablo came free, but Emanuel Laurin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Gabi Batistuta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Toni Schumacher was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabi Batistuta in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Toni Schumacher saved Socavon FC from getting behind. Rodolfo Arruabarrena's late challenge caught a Socavon FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodolfo Arruabarrena helped the player get up and apologised. After 13 played minutes La Candela FC got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Arruabarrena. Emanuel Laurin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferran Rial in the 19th minute of the match. Castel Concepcion hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. A nice corner shot did that Nicodemo Bureu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Emanuel Laurin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ferran Rial fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Laurin having to interfere. In the 44th minute of the match Socavon FC got a corner. La Candela FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nicodemo Bureu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Nicodemo Bureu made a great header on Socavon FC's corner, it was just that La Candela FC's Emanuel Laurin managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 46th match minute, La Candela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Siro Noe to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ferran Rial was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, La Candela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ferran Rial came free, but Emanuel Laurin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Toni Schumacher made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gabi Batistuta in the 55th minute. A collision led to La Candela FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Teodosio Frans hit a great ball. Emanuel Laurin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferran Rial in the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santo Pablo in the 61st minute of play forced La Candela FC's goalkeeper Emanuel Laurin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baldomiro Contero charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Baldomiro Contero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of La Candela FC booed when Socavon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomiro Contero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Socavon FC's Fidencio Lima was substituted for Gualterio Rojo. In the 65th minute, Baldomiro Contero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Toni Schumacher was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cai Bing Cheng. After 67 played minutes Socavon FC got a freekick which was hit by Baldomiro Contero. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabi Batistuta in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Toni Schumacher prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, La Candela FC's Cai Bing Cheng got a free kick in the 71st minute. Socavon FC made a substitution. Javier Puget replaced Nicodemo Bureu. In the 73rd match minute, La Candela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cai Bing Cheng to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Santo Pablo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emanuel Laurin was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. If Gabi Batistuta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 76 minutes into the match, Socavon FC's goalkeeper Toni Schumacher had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabi Batistuta. Javier Puget sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. La Candela FC's Gabi Batistuta got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Toni Schumacher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodosio Frans in the 91st minute of the match. La Candela FC's Vicente Oro quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Geleberto Monjo, made in the 93rd minute of the game. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Socavon FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
