After having played for 2 minutes, Gabi Batistuta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Candela FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabi Batistuta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Terceirense F.C. getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Rui Borges hit a great ball. In the 7th minute Anselmo Baldaia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Laurin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind La Candela FC's goalkeeper Emanuel Laurin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 11 minutes into the match, La Candela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Baldaia came free, but Emanuel Laurin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute Terceirense F.C. were awarded a corner. Valter Lucena went to the cornerflag to take it. If Lucas Luis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Terceirense F.C. getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Lucas Luis hit a great ball. La Candela FC's Emanuel Laurin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Baldaia in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabi Batistuta in the 31st minute of play forced Terceirense F.C.'s goalkeeper Robert Enke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Terceirense F.C.'s Robert Enke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabi Batistuta in the 33rd minute of play. Robert Enke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabi Batistuta, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Robert Enke came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by La Candela FC's Gabi Batistuta. But to his dismay, Gabi Batistuta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Terceirense F.C.'s Aristides Branco quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jeremias Bide, made in the 45th minute of the game.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Teodosio Frans to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Teodosio Frans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jeremias Bide fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Candela FC's protests and gave Jeremias Bide a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, La Candela FC's Jeremias Bide got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Terceirense F.C.'s Kevin Soares was substituted for Anselmo Baldaia. With a little luck, Terceirense F.C.'s Robert Enke got control of the ball when Gabi Batistuta tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 79th match minute, La Candela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cai Bing Cheng to maneuver through the defense. Terceirense F.C.'s Carlos Ferreira was substituted for Lucas Luis. The supporters of Terceirense F.C. booed when La Candela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cai Bing Cheng didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valter Lucena took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 82nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emanuel Laurin. La Candela FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Kevin Soares struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Emanuel Laurin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Terceirense F.C.. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Robert Enke successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. La Candela FC were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after Terceirense F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cai Bing Cheng took the corner. The corner ended in Cai Bing Cheng almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Terceirense F.C.'s Robert Enke did a great save. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. La Candela FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
