Denver Gagnon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ľubomír Čuntala in the 15th minute of play forced Brzostowiec's goalkeeper Szczepan Adamus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Félix took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Denver Gagnon. Denver Gagnon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 21 minutes into the match, JuSi Malacky's goal looked a bit too open when Arkadiusz Kochniarczyk came free, but Denver Gagnon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ludomir Lanczak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denver Gagnon having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ludomir Lanczak couldn't finish the play. Szczepan Adamus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tibor Janič in the 41st minute of the match. Denver Gagnon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arkadiusz Kochniarczyk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Brzostowiec were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The Brzostowiec supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Brzostowiec would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
