The crowd rose to their feet as Primatas FC's Silvério Pires slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rogério Soberano. That made the score 1-1 after 14 minutes of play. Primatas FC were furious when Arlindo Madureira was red carded, 23 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 29 minutes, Durval Campidelis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Primatas FC and the CA Portugália players grew even worse after the yellow card.
