After a defensive mix-up in Atletico San Jacopino's zone, Frode Numelin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guglielmo Vicario came out of the goal and Frode Numelin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eraldo Cicchinelli struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Maurits Vesterherup didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atletico San Jacopino. Maurits Vesterherup made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Eraldo Cicchinelli sent off a good shot on target. Guglielmo Vicario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frode Numelin in the 10th minute of the match. After having played for 19 minutes, Frode Numelin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monks in Robes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frode Numelin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Frode Numelin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monks in Robes's supporters rose to their feet, but Frode Numelin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guglielmo Vicario breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 23 minutes into the match, Atletico San Jacopino's goal looked a bit too open when Frode Numelin came free, but Guglielmo Vicario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maurits Vesterherup made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eraldo Cicchinelli in the 26th minute of play. Jimmy Remontiusen kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Atletico San Jacopino's attentive Leon Veto managed to snatch the ball when Roland Vrbovci made a throw-in in the 33rd minute of the game. In the 40th minute, Frode Numelin made a precise shot to the right of Guglielmo Vicario. Atletico San Jacopino's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Frode Numelin might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guglielmo Vicario. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frode Numelin ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half Monks in Robes were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Rikki Oemann's late challenge caught a Atletico San Jacopino's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rikki Oemann helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Atletico San Jacopino booed when Monks in Robes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rikki Oemann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ditlev Gørmez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Guglielmo Vicario tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eraldo Cicchinelli in the 66th minute of play forced Monks in Robes's goalkeeper Maurits Vesterherup to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurits Vesterherup took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eraldo Cicchinelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th match minute, Monks in Robes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauritz Haugsted to maneuver through the defense. Monks in Robes's Frode Numelin got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 72 minutes into the match, Monks in Robes's Frode Numelin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guglielmo Vicario narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Monks in Robes's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Ottaviani came free, but Maurits Vesterherup reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maurits Vesterherup didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leon Veto went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. The Monks in Robes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Monks in Robes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
