With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stergios Samartzis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stergios Samartzis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Gagiu in the 25th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Petre Benga during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 26th match minute, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petre Benga to maneuver through the defense. Maxim Strugure fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stergios Samartzis having to interfere. Spyros Papazoglou's late challenge caught a Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Spyros Papazoglou helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- booed when Kolopetinitsa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Spyros Papazoglou didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albert Guriță might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stergios Samartzis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albert Guriță ran back to his position shaking his head. The Kolopetinitsa fans cheered their team off the field, for while Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
