Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orvar Stenquist in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Augusto Recife prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hermanö Oilers's Emil Wallgren was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Carlos Augusto Recife in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Carlos Augusto Recife showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orvar Stenquist in the 8th minute of the match. Orvar Stenquist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto Recife having to interfere. Adriano Cunha succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 23rd playminute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orvar Stenquist in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Augusto Recife saved Palmeiras from getting behind. Jonas Torres hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orvar Stenquist in the 31st minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Orvar Stenquist blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Augusto Recife having to make a save. After 35 played minutes Hermanö Oilers got a freekick which was hit by Anders Thedin. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Sonny Åkesson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Toninho Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Jonas Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Augusto Recife took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emil Wallgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Toninho Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Benê Sabóia got a free kick in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Toninho Goiano made the kick off in the second half. Sonny Åkesson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Sonny Åkesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Cunha in the 62nd minute of play. Sonny Åkesson came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Palmeiras's Adriano Cunha. But to his dismay, Adriano Cunha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toninho Goiano in the 67th minute of play forced Hermanö Oilers's goalkeeper Sonny Åkesson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermanö Oilers's Sonny Åkesson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Carlos Simões in the 72nd minute of play. After 73 minutes Hermanö Oilers's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was José Carlos Simões who took care of the corner kick. In the 75th match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodriguinho Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. José Carlos Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sonny Åkesson having to interfere.
