José Carlos Simões could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Alaaddin Tezeren made a huge save. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when RED KHAGAN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Stark didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Perivaldo Furlan from long distance, 35 minutes into the match, got Alaaddin Tezeren's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 42 played minutes Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by José Carlos Simões. Alaaddin Tezeren was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Toninho Goiano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Toninho Goiano really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Michel Sergipano got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 85 minutes into the match, RED KHAGAN's goal looked a bit too open when Toninho Goiano came free, but Alaaddin Tezeren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palmeiras's Carlos Augusto Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aytekin Ciner in the 92nd minute of play. Alaaddin Tezeren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Cunha in the 94th minute of play.
