The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Jari Litmanen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The supporters of Springplank FC booed when FV Wienerwald was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philipp Haberer didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Springplank FC's Norman-Alexander Wellmann threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ferdi Reis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hartmut Wannemacher in the 13th minute of play forced Springplank FC's goalkeeper Jim Kamps to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Springplank FC's Jim Kamps played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harald Delb in the 17th minute of play. In the 18thth minute of the game Jan-André Dospel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Springplank FC's Jim Kamps was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Springplank FC's attentive Freek Reitsema managed to snatch the ball when Frank-Dieter Strauss made a throw-in in the 22nd minute of the game. After 23 played minutes FV Wienerwald got a freekick which was hit by Harald Delb. With a little luck, FV Wienerwald's Norman-Alexander Wellmann got control of the ball when Jari Litmanen tried to sneak it across the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, FV Wienerwald's goal looked a bit too open when Ferdi Reis came free, but Norman-Alexander Wellmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute Freek Reitsema shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norman-Alexander Wellmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferdi Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norman-Alexander Wellmann having to interfere. Freek Reitsema received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Norman-Alexander Wellmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferdi Reis to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Ferdi Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norman-Alexander Wellmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jim Kamps showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Ternes, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. FV Wienerwald's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Arthur Lettinger in the 90th minute. The corner ended in Arthur Lettinger almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Springplank FC's Jim Kamps did a great save. Patrik Kölblinger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Kamps having to interfere. In the 92nd minute Harald Delb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Kamps saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Luca Ternes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jim Kamps, 1-1. Arthur Lettinger was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 99 minutes into the match. Arthur Lettinger kicked well hit freekick during the 100th minute of the match. Norman-Alexander Wellmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sunday Oliseh in the 101st minute of the match. Springplank FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
