The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Goral Zywiec booed when En avant de guingamp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geoffroy Doumenc didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Goral Zywiec's goalkeeper Leszek Pruss, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Marius Bruna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goral Zywiec's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maelgwn Le Meur was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. The Goral Zywiec supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Goral Zywiec would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
