After taking down the ball on Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's corner Fermín Gay fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Izak Capellemans quite easily take care of the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Lions United's goal looked a bit too open when Eudoxio Queipo came free, but Izak Capellemans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marta Poom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carl Vinckx, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Nicolao Nogal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. After some careless play in the Lions United defense, Nicolao Nogal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Izak Capellemans. The Lions United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Izak Capellemans should have stopped the shot.

The wind increased when Carl Vinckx made the kick off in the second half. Izak Capellemans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolao Nogal in the 52nd minute of play.
