Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jano Cavalcante was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 22 minutes into the match, Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s goal looked a bit too open when Mathias dos Santos came free, but Reinaldo Damião reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ- defense, Mathias dos Santos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reinaldo Damião. The Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reinaldo Damião should have stopped the shot. 30 minutes into the match, Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s goal looked a bit too open when Mathias dos Santos came free, but Reinaldo Damião reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute, Mathias dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpected shot in the 70th minute by Jano Cavalcante got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A collision led to Montevideo getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Anselmo Valladares hit a great ball. Mathias dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Reinaldo Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jano Cavalcante got free with Reinaldo Damião in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s Reinaldo Damião got control of the ball when Jano Cavalcante tried to sneak it across the goal line. Montevideo's Oleg Timofeev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Velloso in the 94th minute of play. Montevideo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
