After 12 played minutes Northern California got a freekick which was hit by Gregorio Primo. Gonzalo Morales's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alec Parslow read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. La Naranja Mecánica's Otto Smitt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Bertran in the 20th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Leopoldo Bertran managed to get in a good position for a shot. Northern California's supporters rose to their feet, but Leopoldo Bertran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otto Smitt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27thth minute of the game Gonzalo Morales who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Northern California's Alec Parslow was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Otto Smitt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Bertran, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Roberto Tartalo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Northern California's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Naranja Mecánica the free kick. In the 31st minute, Roberto Tartalo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Northern California's Alec Parslow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonzalo Morales in the 32nd minute of play. After 34 minutes, Osvaldo Oidor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Naranja Mecánica and the Northern California players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cristo Iraunkor hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Otto Smitt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Bertran in the 46th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Leopoldo Bertran made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Gonzalo Morales shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alec Parslow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leopoldo Bertran struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Otto Smitt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Northern California. Alec Parslow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Morales, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 64 played minutes La Naranja Mecánica got a freekick which was hit by Cristo Iraunkor. The supporters of La Naranja Mecánica booed when Northern California was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustino Charro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leopoldo Bertran in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Otto Smitt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 77 minutes, Gonzalo Morales managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Naranja Mecánica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonzalo Morales was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st match minute, La Naranja Mecánica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristo Iraunkor to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonzalo Morales in the 92nd minute of play forced Northern California's goalkeeper Alec Parslow to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alec Parslow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Morales in the 96th minute of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
