Spectators: 7988 (Terracing: 5992, Seating: 1837, VIP seats: 159) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Houston Floyd took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 5th minute, Manolito Neira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 6 played minutes, American Airlines's Bradley Cerna shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marino Sadin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in American Airlines reached it. American Airlines's Vern McAllister proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save American Airlines from getting a goal against them. After 13 played minutes American Airlines got a freekick which was hit by Luke Skywalker. In the 14th minute Lucho Pérez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vern McAllister saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th match minute, Colo-Colo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florentino Manterola to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute, Colo-Colo's Florentino Manterola ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vern McAllister. Vern McAllister yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 28thth minute of the game George Costanza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Colo-Colo's Marino Sadin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Colo-Colo's José Maria Baquero got a free kick in the 30th minute. After having played for 40 minutes, Florentino Manterola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colo-Colo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florentino Manterola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. George Costanza's late challenge caught a Colo-Colo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. George Costanza helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Colo-Colo booed when American Airlines was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Costanza didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manolito Neira to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucho Pérez in the 56th minute of play forced American Airlines's goalkeeper Vern McAllister to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Manolito Neira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 66 minutes into the match, American Airlines's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Lobos came free, but Vern McAllister reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vern McAllister took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Lobos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Frank Lobos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colo-Colo's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Lobos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vern McAllister breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucho Pérez in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vern McAllister prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in American Airlines's zone, Manolito Neira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vern McAllister came out of the goal and Manolito Neira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Colo-Colo's Marino Sadin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Costanza in the 77th minute of play. In the 81st match minute, Colo-Colo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Lobos to maneuver through the defense. American Airlines's Vern McAllister played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucho Pérez in the 84th minute of play. In the 97thth minute of the game Quintén Barrios who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but American Airlines's Vern McAllister was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
