In the 4th match minute, Olympique Fribourg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gene Emmenegger to maneuver through the defense. Olympique Fribourg's Patrick Knechtli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Jerano in the 7th minute of play. Defensores del Albinegro's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Medero Gadea scored to the left of an out of position Ignacy Pliszka, making the score, 1-0. In the 20thth minute of the game Arnaldo Justin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Olympique Fribourg's Patrick Knechtli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ignacy Pliszka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raik Topuz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raik Topuz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ignacy Pliszka read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Téo Savion could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Ignacy Pliszka made a huge save. Patrick Knechtli came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Defensores del Albinegro's Leopoldo Mitxel. But to his dismay, Leopoldo Mitxel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After the first half Defensores del Albinegro were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Patrick Knechtli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Justin in the 51st minute of play. Ignacy Pliszka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raik Topuz, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Patrick Knechtli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo Mitxel in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Stutz in the 65th minute of play forced Defensores del Albinegro's goalkeeper Ignacy Pliszka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erubiel Abalos was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 72nd minute. Defensores del Albinegro's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 74th match minute, Olympique Fribourg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Schroeder to maneuver through the defense. Olympique Fribourg's Patrick Knechtli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Olympique Fribourg from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute, Leopoldo Mitxel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Olympique Fribourg's Herve Muller got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 82nd minute, Angelino Lico got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Téo Savion took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ignacy Pliszka. Ignacy Pliszka dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Téo Savion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Ignacy Pliszka tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Olympique Fribourg had won after a very even match.
