An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Dibala in the 27th minute of play forced Academica Pulheim's goalkeeper Henry Nölting to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isaac Txema showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Noel Schaffert in the 29th minute of the match. After 46 played minutes, Suipacha FC's Lucas Langoni shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Henry Nölting came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Suipacha FC reached it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Academica Pulheim's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Suipacha FC the free kick. Henry Nölting was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Lucas Langoni. Paulo Dibala in the 85thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Henry Nölting, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 90th minute, Lucas Langoni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isaac Txema made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Meinolf Rebe in the 93rd minute of play.
