Clayton Gerada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Buster Cheesman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andrew Miggiani who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Callum Barratt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Clayton Gerada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glyn Everard in the 8th minute of play. Callum Barratt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angelo Trigona's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. In the 17th minute, Lawrence Buttigieg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Angelo Trigona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Callum Barratt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patryk Plučinský hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. If Andrew Miggiani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrew Miggiani to make the kick off. Callum Barratt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrew Miggiani, who was totally free with the ball in the 50th minute. Callum Barratt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Montebello in the 52nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Montebello in the 53rd minute of play forced Leicester Lions's goalkeeper Callum Barratt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Dyson was shown his second yellow card after 54 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. If Roderick Gordon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mike Wadham in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Clayton Gerada, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Mike Wadham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Seraċini Għawdxin's Robert Seychell in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 76th minute, Joseph Bruno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 90th minute Paul Montebello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Callum Barratt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Seraċini Għawdxin had won after a very even match.
