The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 11 minutes of play, Ponte do Carro's Filipe Poças made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tom Murillo was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Eduardo Chayo fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DREAM TEAM WORLD's protests and gave Eduardo Chayo a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Poças in the 18th minute of play forced DREAM TEAM WORLD's goalkeeper Tom Murillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nuno Sanches hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Anacleto Hitzeder charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anacleto Hitzeder the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jeremias Marko made a kick off. Tom Murillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimiro Corte-Real, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celso Câmara hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Heitor Horta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Cordarrell in the 59th minute of play. DREAM TEAM WORLD's Tom Murillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimiro Corte-Real in the 61st minute of play. Tom Murillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimiro Corte-Real, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. If Vladimiro Corte-Real had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Israel Salazar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Elpidio Llorian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ponte do Carro booed when DREAM TEAM WORLD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anacleto Hitzeder hit a great ball. Heitor Horta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeremias Marko went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Jeremias Marko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tom Murillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimiro Corte-Real in the 88th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Filipe Poças hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Ponte do Carro defense, Elpidio Llorian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Heitor Horta. The Ponte do Carro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Heitor Horta should have stopped the shot. Ponte do Carro's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
