With an all-out effort, Wyoming Cowboys's Zlatan Buffon threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lanny Lilly, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ronnie Peterson's late challenge caught a Wyoming Cowboys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronnie Peterson helped the player get up and apologised. The audience thought a goal was coming when Verner Myr got free with Zlatan Buffon in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nazeer Mhlathe in the 23rd minute of play forced Wyoming Cowboys's goalkeeper Philip McNamara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Wyoming Cowboys's goal looked a bit too open when Gunnar Nilsson came free, but Philip McNamara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Jordan F1 91-05's Gunnar Nilsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Philip McNamara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nazeer Mhlathe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zlatan Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Verner Myr, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute.
