Spike Bond charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Spike Bond the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Memphis Grizzlies's Spike Bond got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Sam Bates might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcelo Gröhe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sam Bates ran back to his position shaking his head. Cesare Maldini made in the 43rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Renan Tepedino. 46 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Sam Bates came free, but Marcelo Gröhe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sport Club Mavericks made a substitution. Vítor Perez replaced Renan Tepedino. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

But to his dismay, Arash Eagle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Albert Henry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pat Zamora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Almeida in the 97th minute of the match. Marcelo Gröhe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Henry, who was totally free with the ball in the 100th minute.
