Durval Messias made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Amadeo Manuelo sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of San Lorenzo de Sarandi booed when Coritiba Foot Ball Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Biaggio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miguel Gerazan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Durval Messias made a huge save. In the 16th minute, Vicente Higuera left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Coritiba Foot Ball Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Caetano Guerreiro made in the 23rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Rolly Escudero. The corner went over the outstretched arms of San Lorenzo de Sarandi's goalie and right to Vicente Higuera. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. San Lorenzo de Sarandi's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The wind increased when Rodrigo Garro made the kick off in the second half. Leandro Manco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmir Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Lorenzo de Sarandi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lobo Londrina was slow to take the kick. During this time Coritiba Foot Ball Club's players had a chance to rest. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Lobo Londrina was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Leandro Manco in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Cacá Britovskiy came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Coritiba Foot Ball Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cacá Britovskiy couldn't finish the play. San Lorenzo de Sarandi made a substitution. Durval Messias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. In the 67th minute Walmir Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leandro Manco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leo Acuña took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Durval Messias. Durval Messias dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3. Andrés Silvera took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Durval Messias. Durval Messias dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-3. Durval Messias came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Andrés Silvera. But to his dismay, Andrés Silvera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-3. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
