The referee ignored Roncourt's protests and gave Ademir Corrêa a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Roncourt getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Ademir Corrêa hit a great ball. When Roman Fujarczuk came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the AFK Petržalka fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roman Fujarczuk couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nikola Krstović stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
