Capioviciño's supporters rose to their feet, but Robustiano Rafel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovani de Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fabio Benitez's late challenge caught a Portuguesa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabio Benitez helped the player get up and apologised. In the 58th minute, one of Capioviciño:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Capioviciño. Luciano Salgado lost his temper 64 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. In the 100th minute, Esteve Nastasio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match was over Portuguesa could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Capioviciño throughout the match.
