Spectators: 7479 (Terracing: 5611, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Melquiades Paz started the match with the kick off. TaTeRo Boys were furious when Dida Baiano was red carded, 4 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of TaTeRo Boys:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Quilmes:s goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gervasio Soter in the 10th minute of play forced TaTeRo Boys's goalkeeper Régis Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Quilmes booed when TaTeRo Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Carlos Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gervasio Soter in the 12th minute of play forced TaTeRo Boys's goalkeeper Régis Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute, Aaron Muno made a precise shot to the right of Régis Leão. TaTeRo Boys's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 17th minute, Enrique Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Melquiades Paz took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Régis Leão. Régis Leão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Régis Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gervasio Soter in the 28th minute of the match. After some careless play in the TaTeRo Boys defense, Gervasio Soter kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Régis Leão. The TaTeRo Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Régis Leão should have stopped the shot. Zé Carlos Mendonça hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, TaTeRo Boys's Hermengildo Elorri threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zé Carlos Mendonça, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 39th minute, Gervasio Soter left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Quilmes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. 44 minutes into the match, TaTeRo Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Gervasio Soter came free, but Régis Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zé Carlos Mendonça stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gervasio Soter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Régis Leão made a huge save. TaTeRo Boys's Régis Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melquiades Paz in the 62nd minute of play. Enrique Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Arnaldo Sena hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After 69 played minutes TaTeRo Boys got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos Mendonça. The supporters of TaTeRo Boys booed when Quilmes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Muno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Carlos Mendonça struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Hermengildo Elorri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for TaTeRo Boys. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Carlos Mendonça in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hermengildo Elorri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. TaTeRo Boys's Régis Leão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save TaTeRo Boys from getting a goal against them. Régis Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Melquiades Paz in the 86th minute of play. Quilmes played a much better game than TaTeRo Boys and deserved their victory. The TaTeRo Boys players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
