Paulão Veiga started the match with the kick off. Júlio Brodel kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Olívio Sanches made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oséias de Alcântara in the 6th minute. Hernani Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júlio Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Carrossel Caipira booed when Green Squad FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lúcio da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hernani Pirani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olavo Paiva in the 13th minute of the match. A collision led to Carrossel Caipira getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Renato de Queiroz hit a great ball. Tostão da Fonseca scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hernani Pirani, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Olívio Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúcio da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th match minute, Green Squad FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raí Jacinto to maneuver through the defense. Carrossel Caipira's Olívio Sanches proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Carrossel Caipira from getting a goal against them. Olívio Sanches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lúcio da Cunha in the 43rd minute of the match.

Enio de Mendonça hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. If Willian Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tostão da Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Pirani having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Lúcio da Cunha notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Carrossel Caipira's Olívio Sanches. Olívio Sanches was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hernani Pirani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tostão da Fonseca in the 67th minute. After 67 played minutes Green Squad FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Carneiro. A hard shot by Renato Abreu from long distance, 68 minutes into the match, got Hernani Pirani's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 79 minutes into the game, Gugu Oliveira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Green Squad FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carrossel Caipira the free kick. Olívio Sanches didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorge Gaspar went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Green Squad FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Carrossel Caipira had controlled the match.
