The supporters of Baraja Española FC booed when Los Diablos Rojos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximino Calvet didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Matos in the 4th minute of play forced Los Diablos Rojos's goalkeeper Julian Sotil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Los Diablos Rojos's Julian Sotil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Matos in the 8th minute of play. Camilo Theodore might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julian Sotil. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Camilo Theodore ran back to his position shaking his head. Baraja Española FC's Alejandro Rivero was substituted for Ulises Argoitz. Alejandro Rivero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Andres Santiago hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 0-2 became the score in the 15th minute when Mauro Matos elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 18 minutes of play, Baraja Española FC's Baltasar Edorta made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julian Sotil was left in no man's land by his defense there! Melquiades Valentine was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 21 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of Los Diablos Rojos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Baraja Española FC:s goal. Camilo Theodore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 27 played minutes Los Diablos Rojos got a freekick which was hit by Siro Jatsu. In the 29th minute Baraja Española FC were awarded a corner. Baltasar Edorta went to the cornerflag to take it. After a rather tough play, Los Diablos Rojos's Maximino Calvet got a free kick in the 30th minute. Baltasar Edorta, 31 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Camilo Theodore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julian Sotil having to interfere. Alejandro Rivero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Siro Jatsu's late challenge caught a Baraja Española FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Siro Jatsu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st match minute, Los Diablos Rojos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Siro Jatsu to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Baraja Española FC were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Andres Santiago made the kick off in the second half. Mauro Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Julian Sotil was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Julian Sotil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Matos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baraja Española FC's Mauro Matos got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Mauro Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baraja Española FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro Matos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julian Sotil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alejandro Rivero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. The Los Diablos Rojos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
