Spectators: 7493 (Terracing: 5621, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Aníbal Mattos started the match with the kick off. Alvaro Aloisi hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. If Anfilogino Traini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Goiás Esporte Clube's zone, Alvaro Aloisi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardinho Jacinto came out of the goal and Alvaro Aloisi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alvaro Aloisi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when Calenzano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fortunato Pugliese didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 26 played minutes Calenzano got a freekick which was hit by Alvaro Aloisi. Bernardinho Jacinto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anfilogino Traini in the 29th minute. Valdomiro Ribeiro's late challenge caught a Calenzano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valdomiro Ribeiro helped the player get up and apologised. Valdomiro Ribeiro hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Calenzano's Enrico Di Gennaro got a free kick in the 31st minute. Anfilogino Traini struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Bernardinho Jacinto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Calenzano. In the 39th minute, Manuel Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 45 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Aloisi came free, but Bernardinho Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by Goiás Esporte Clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Anfilogino Traini was slow to take the kick. During this time Calenzano's players had a chance to rest. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alvaro Aloisi made a kick off. Bernardinho Jacinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Aloisi in the 53rd minute of play. After 55 minutes of play, Calenzano's Alvaro Aloisi made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernardinho Jacinto was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 64th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Allan Senna to maneuver through the defense. 86 minutes into the game, Alvaro Aloisi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Bernardinho Jacinto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 93rd minute Sandrinho Vides shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Concetto Bani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alvaro Aloisi in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernardinho Jacinto saved Goiás Esporte Clube from getting behind.
