Spectators: 7543 (Terracing: 5659, Seating: 1734, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sakarias Hellbom took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Newpi Academy's Sixto Richie in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gnesta Oilers's goalie prevented a goal. Erling Bergfelt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juninho Pernambucano in the 9th minute of the match. If Camilo Berdoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Juninho Pernambucano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newpi Academy's supporters rose to their feet, but Juninho Pernambucano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erling Bergfelt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Erling Bergfelt came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Newpi Academy's Juninho Pernambucano. But to his dismay, Juninho Pernambucano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 30 minutes into the match, Sixto Richie had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Erling Bergfelt. Gnesta Oilers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sixto Richie was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Gnesta Oilers's zone, Sixto Richie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erling Bergfelt came out of the goal and Sixto Richie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gnesta Oilers's goalkeeper Erling Bergfelt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jim Bratt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim Bratt in the 44th minute of play forced Newpi Academy's goalkeeper Benji Price to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute, Pastor Bento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sven-Åke Gadd struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Benji Price didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gnesta Oilers. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

53 minutes into the game, Joaquin Herena threw the ball into play from the sideline. Gnesta Oilers's Tomas Henriksson quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 56 minutes into the match, Gnesta Oilers's goalkeeper Erling Bergfelt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sixto Richie. Pastor Bento hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After having played for 58 minutes, Sven-Åke Gadd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gnesta Oilers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven-Åke Gadd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Newpi Academy booed when Gnesta Oilers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sakarias Hellbom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gnesta Oilers's Erling Bergfelt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Pernambucano in the 62nd minute of play. Erling Bergfelt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juninho Pernambucano in the 63rd minute of play. With his leg Erling Bergfelt managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Newpi Academy's Sixto Richie fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 68 minutes into the match, Gnesta Oilers's goalkeeper Erling Bergfelt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sixto Richie. Erling Bergfelt was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Juninho Pernambucano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 69 minute of play. 73 minutes into the game, Sixto Richie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Erling Bergfelt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 83 minutes into the match, Gnesta Oilers's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Pernambucano came free, but Erling Bergfelt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute Newpi Academy were awarded a corner. Andres Pacifico went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Segundo Roderigo heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 88 minutes into the match, Gnesta Oilers's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Pernambucano came free, but Erling Bergfelt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute Jim Bratt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benji Price saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Gnesta Oilers getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Rikard Östlund hit a great ball. Newpi Academy's Andres Pacifico got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gnesta Oilers's Erling Bergfelt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save Gnesta Oilers from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Newpi Academy had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
