Spectators: 7582 (Terracing: 5687, Seating: 1744, VIP seats: 151) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sixto Richie took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 2nd minute Sixto Richie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Visch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 4 minutes into the match, Phoenix Strikers's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Pernambucano came free, but Johnny Visch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee gave Newpi Academy a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Andres Pacifico, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Phoenix Strikers's Johnny Visch. 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juninho Pernambucano in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johnny Visch saved Phoenix Strikers from getting behind. Pastor Bento kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Juninho Pernambucano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eduard Boroș received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benji Price came out and tried to block the shot, but Eduard Boroș slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 34th minute. The supporters of Phoenix Strikers booed when Newpi Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sixto Richie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquin Herena kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Anton Păun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Benji Price made a huge save. After 41 played minutes Phoenix Strikers got a freekick which was hit by Traian Eremia. 44 minutes into the match, Phoenix Strikers's goal looked a bit too open when Sixto Richie came free, but Johnny Visch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anton Păun stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Anton Păun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benji Price having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Newpi Academy's Pastor Bento got a free kick in the 53rd minute. A collision led to Phoenix Strikers getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Ion Africano hit a great ball. 59 minutes into the match, Phoenix Strikers's Eduard Boroș sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benji Price narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in Phoenix Strikers fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! Benji Price showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduard Boroș, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute, Juninho Pernambucano reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Johnny Visch. The goal made the score 1-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emilian Râznicu during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75th minute, Emilian Râznicu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 77 minutes into the match, Newpi Academy's Fabian Gorka sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Johnny Visch narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Sixto Richie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johnny Visch made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Sixto Richie sent off a good shot on target. Benji Price made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduard Boroș in the 87th minute of play. When Pascual Caton fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newpi Academy's protests and gave Pascual Caton a yellow card for diving instead. Pascual Caton kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Gigel Enășoiu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 89th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Newpi Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Păun came free, but Benji Price reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anton Păun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ion Africano struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Benji Price didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Phoenix Strikers. Benji Price made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anton Păun in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Newpi Academy had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
