Baltasar Lonzo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltasar Lonzo in the 11th minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Cristobal Fox to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristobal Fox made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baltasar Lonzo in the 12th minute. Steve Sharp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Sugoi having to interfere. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 39 minutes into the game, Niceto Gutxi threw the ball into play from the sideline. C. A. Independiente's Rafael Flynn quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 44th minute, Ferdinand Bauer made a precise shot to the right of Angelo Sugoi. Talleres de Escalada's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1.

Weldon Morrow might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Angelo Sugoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Weldon Morrow ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristobal Fox showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andres Jusepe in the 54th minute of the match. The supporters of Talleres de Escalada booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brady Hooks didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Talleres de Escalada getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Andres Jusepe hit a great ball. Talleres de Escalada's Pastor Ostadar got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Talleres de Escalada were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
