Cristobal Fox made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fulgencio Parra in the 27th minute of play. Vicente Medina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Gar Cumbres's late challenge caught a C. A. Independiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
