The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ekpenyong Vogler hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Rodolfo Santos put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Erich Berghoff. Erich Berghoff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 26 minutes into the game, Niko Töpfer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
