Bobby Nessen kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Maurits Weinhardt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sadettin Akboy in the 20th minute of play. Selahaddin Tozun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svenn Gurliph, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Bobby Nessen was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 25 minutes into the match. Göksel Esenboğa succeeded in the game's 44th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Maurits Weinhardt made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Uygur Üstüner sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Rahmi Alanson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wagner Schaumburg hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart.
