Spectators: 7492 (Terracing: 5620, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Remigio Jerano started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rômulo Macedo in the 3rd minute of play forced Academia Club's goalkeeper Javier Fero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. César Terra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14th match minute, Academia Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Ponce to maneuver through the defense. In the 28thth minute of the game Remigio Jerano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S S Palestra Italia's Remo da Costa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Remigio Jerano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo da Costa having to interfere. Remo da Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remigio Jerano, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd match minute, S S Palestra Italia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Donatello to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, S S Palestra Italia's Dagoberto Rossi got a free kick in the 34th minute. After 35 played minutes, Academia Club's Bonifacio Mark shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Remo da Costa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Academia Club reached it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Remigio Jerano in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Remo da Costa saved S S Palestra Italia from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luís Paulo da Mata was the one to do the kick off. Javier Fero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caio Luz in the 56th minute of play. Remo da Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Remigio Jerano's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Remigio Jerano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Academia Club's Remo da Costa threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Remigio Jerano, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Remo da Costa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cipriano Corderun in the 70th minute. Remo da Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Remigio Jerano's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. A hard shot 74 in the game by Remigio Jerano from a close distance when the talented Remo da Costa managed to make a qualified save. S S Palestra Italia's players were relieved. Cipriano Corderun kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. When Academia Club's Remigio Jerano in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye S S Palestra Italia's goalie prevented a goal. 82 minutes into the match, Remigio Jerano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Remo da Costa. S S Palestra Italia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Remigio Jerano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When Rômulo Macedo fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S S Palestra Italia's protests and gave Rômulo Macedo a yellow card for diving instead. Academia Club's Javier Fero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by César Terra in the 93rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Academia Club defense, Luís Paulo da Mata kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Javier Fero. The Academia Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Javier Fero should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. S S Palestra Italia had won after a very even match.
