With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nestor Quintal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nestor Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Ispovednikov in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, Independente FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ezequiel Barral to maneuver through the defense. Galatasaray SK's Stanislav Kaiturov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Vítor Rodrigues in the 23rd minute of play. If Boris Ayupov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Carlos de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanislav Kaiturov having to interfere. Stanislav Kaiturov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ezequiel Barral in the 33rd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Galatasaray SK's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Carlos de Azevedo came free, but Stanislav Kaiturov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nestor Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Ispovednikov, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Marcel Mendes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Stanislav Kaiturov. 5-2. Independente FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
