Jarbas Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christoffer Kempel in the 40th minute of play. Jarbas Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner ended in Perivaldo Pimenta almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but União Agrícola Barbarense's Jarbas Marques did a great save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Jarbas Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christoffer Kempel in the 52nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Carlos Fernando Corrêa managed to get in a good position for a shot. When Vladimir Valadares fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored União Agrícola Barbarense's protests and gave Vladimir Valadares a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd match minute, União Agrícola Barbarense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimir Valadares to maneuver through the defense. Cesinha Mazza's late challenge caught a União Agrícola Barbarense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
