Betão Félix scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Petrică Vorniceanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 13 minutes, Luís Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gyepüpataka's Petrică Vorniceanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão Félix in the 17th minute of play. Ovidiu Minteuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilson Arósio having to interfere. A collision led to Pombal 2003 F.C. getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Rodolfo de Carvalho hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Mihnea Şuplăcan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gyepüpataka's supporters rose to their feet, but Mihnea Şuplăcan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilson Arósio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 37th minute, Mihnea Şuplăcan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gilson Arósio. The goal made the score 1-1. After a rather tough play, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Rodrigo Medeiros got a free kick in the 44th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 60th minute, Gyepüpataka's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Betão Félix fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. A collision led to Gyepüpataka getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Cristian Măliță hit a great ball. David Crețu charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Crețu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 74 minutes into the match, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Ovidiu Minteuan came free, but Gilson Arósio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Betão Félix in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Petrică Vorniceanu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With 87 minutes on the clock, Paulão Fonseca commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card.
