An unexpectedly hard shot by Maicon Branco in the 2nd minute of play forced Guará FC's goalkeeper Célio Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oscar de Andrade's late challenge caught a Proteu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Waldemar Cordeiro got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-2. 39 minutes into the match. The Proteu fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Proteu's Maicon Branco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Guga Nóbrega hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maicon Branco was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristóvão Mattos in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Evandro Guedes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Guará FC defense, Dida Dantas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Célio Mendonça. The Guará FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Célio Mendonça should have stopped the shot. With splendid footwork Maicon Branco arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-5 by the left pole in the game's 76th minute. Célio Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Guará FC's Luís Eduardo Maciel got a free kick in the 82nd minute. With a little luck, Guará FC's Célio Mendonça got control of the ball when Maicon Branco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Maicon Branco struck a weak shot in the 91st minute.
