Spectators: 7588 (Terracing: 5692, Seating: 1745, VIP seats: 151) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Edson Mendes started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Edson Mendes came free, but Luiz Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edson Mendes in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Monteiro saved Montesclarense E.C. from getting behind. Paulo Renato Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. The supporters of Olivedos booed when Montesclarense E.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltazar Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caco Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Víktor Mineiro having to interfere. Edson Mendes was extremely unlucky when he, in the 32nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Olivedos's Víktor Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltazar Dantas in the 34th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Olivedos's Luiz Monteiro threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edson Mendes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Caco Rossi hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Baltazar Dantas made the kick off in the second half. Luís Veloso's late challenge caught a Olivedos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Veloso helped the player get up and apologised. In the 58th match minute, Montesclarense E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Veloso to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute, Edson Mendes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 69th minute, Antônio Carlos Valadares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Olivedos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Edson Mendes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edson Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Víktor Mineiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Cavalcante in the 87th minute of play. A collision led to Olivedos getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Dário Viana hit a great ball. In the 90th match minute, Olivedos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Carlos Valadares to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute, Edson Mendes made a precise shot to the right of Luiz Monteiro. Montesclarense E.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Olivedos had won after a very even match.
