Spectators: 7462 (Terracing: 5597, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Damaso Suarez started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Argentinos Juniors's Luciano Presebal got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Boca Juniors's Ignacio Oto got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ignacio Oto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Pedro Bela made a huge save. When Timoteo Gonzo came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Argentinos Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timoteo Gonzo couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Argentinos Juniors's Pedro Bela got control of the ball when Ignacio Oto tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 18 minutes of play, Boca Juniors's Ignacio Oto made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Bela was left in no man's land by his defense there! Iker Kinsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Pedro Bela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ignacio Oto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ignacio Oto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Argentinos Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Presebal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Argentinos Juniors's goalkeeper Pedro Bela had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dionisio Olivar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ignacio Oto in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Bela saved Argentinos Juniors from getting behind. When Ignacio Oto came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Boca Juniors fans jumped to their feet. Salvador Itzaina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pedro Bela came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Boca Juniors's Ignacio Oto. But to his dismay, Ignacio Oto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Pedro Bela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacio Oto in the 46th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ignacio Oto was the one to do the kick off. Argentinos Juniors's Pedro Bela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Colas in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ignacio Oto to maneuver through the defense. Timoteo Gonzo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Adan Grabiel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ignacio Oto struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Pedro Bela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Juniors. In the 60th minute Manuel Colas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Bela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonel Tibalt to maneuver through the defense. Boca Juniors's Adan Grabiel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Boca Juniors from getting a goal against them. Pedro Bela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacio Oto in the 68th minute of play. Manuel Colas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The tension between the Argentinos Juniors and the Boca Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th minute, Emilio Tano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonel Tibalt kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 86 minutes into the game, Eustacio Gaskon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Boca Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Argentinos Juniors the free kick. In the 87th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eustacio Gaskon to maneuver through the defense. Luciano Presebal's late challenge caught a Boca Juniors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luciano Presebal helped the player get up and apologised. Luciano Presebal kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ignacio Oto in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Bela saved Argentinos Juniors from getting behind. 96 minutes into the game, Boca Juniors's Ignacio Oto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Bela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Boca Juniors walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
