Esquadrão Lusitano's Ivan Trindade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 毛骋默 in the 24th minute of play. In the 39th minute, 毛骋默 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivan Trindade was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nelio Bombardeiro to make the kick off. 毛骋默's late challenge caught a Esquadrão Lusitano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. 毛骋默 helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, 广州太阳神足球俱乐部's 毛骋默 got a free kick in the 51st minute. 余希振 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Ivan Trindade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But to his dismay, Nelio Bombardeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Esquadrão Lusitano's Ivan Trindade proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Esquadrão Lusitano from getting a goal against them. In the 96th minute of the match 广州太阳神足球俱乐部 got a corner. Esquadrão Lusitano's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. 余希振 ran over to the corner to take the kick. The Esquadrão Lusitano players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
