After a rather tough play, Los Golosos's Clodoveo Olentzaro got a free kick in the 2nd minute. In the 5th minute, Alex Santamaria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Buenaventura Paniagua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Oxarra having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alex Santamaria got free with Martin Oxarra in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 12th minute of the match OROTINENSE got a corner. Los Golosos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jonny Rosales ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Los Golosos's goalie and right to Ernesto Barrantes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Los Golosos's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 14 minutes into the match, Los Golosos's goalkeeper Martin Oxarra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alex Santamaria. The supporters of OROTINENSE booed when Los Golosos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Montrell didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Alex Santamaria had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Oxarra. Los Golosos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alex Santamaria was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Jason Ramirez kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Los Golosos's Martin Oxarra got control of the ball when Alex Santamaria tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 36th minute, Emilio Checa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 43 minutes into the game, Cesar Montrell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Golosos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave OROTINENSE the free kick. Los Golosos's Cesar Montrell got his second yellow card of the match in the 54th minute. The referee ordered Cesar Montrell off the ground. After some careless play in the Los Golosos defense, Rodolfo Orozco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martin Oxarra. The Los Golosos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Oxarra should have stopped the shot. Wilfredo Dacio charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilfredo Dacio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Wilfredo Dacio hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. 69 minutes into the game, Ernesto Barrantes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Martin Oxarra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 74 minutes into the match, Los Golosos's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Orozco came free, but Martin Oxarra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martin Oxarra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Buenaventura Paniagua in the 75th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Milton Gimenez took a quick shot and it went in 6-1 without a chance for Ulises Villegas to make any attempt to save it. Martin Oxarra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Santamaria in the 80th minute of play. In the 84th minute, Alex Santamaria ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Martin Oxarra was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-1. Martin Oxarra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Buenaventura Paniagua, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 90 minutes into the game, when Emilio Checa put in a rough tackle. 89 minutes into the game, one of Los Golosos:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 92nd minute there was a penalty for OROTINENSE. Jonny Rosales stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Martin Oxarra. 8-1. Martin Oxarra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Orozco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When OROTINENSE's Rodolfo Orozco in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Los Golosos's goalie prevented a goal. When the referee ended the match the OROTINENSE players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
