When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Lawrence Eckert sped through Les diables noirs's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kevan Grange. Fabien Dol hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. 11 minutes into the game, Lawrence Eckert cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Kevan Grange was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kevan Grange stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jose Field's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! The supporters of Les diables noirs booed when DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascal Sheldon didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's goalkeeper Preston Esposito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustave Pierrel. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilfried Lépinay in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Preston Esposito prevented the ball from getting in the gole. DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's Preston Esposito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfried Lépinay in the 29th minute of play. Preston Esposito made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustave Pierrel in the 31st minute. If Jose Field had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's Preston Esposito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jose Field in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kevan Grange saved Les diables noirs from getting behind. Jose Field sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 41 minutes of play, DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's Pascal Sheldon made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kevan Grange was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jose Field sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jose Field was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean-Yves Paturel in the 53rd minute of play forced DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's goalkeeper Preston Esposito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute, Gustave Pierrel made a precise shot to the right of Preston Esposito. DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Jose Field recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Preston Esposito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean-Yves Paturel in the 62nd minute of play. Jose Field sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th match minute, Les diables noirs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joey Weill to maneuver through the defense. 67 minutes into the match, Les diables noirs's goalkeeper Kevan Grange had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jose Field. Les diables noirs's Kevan Grange proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Les diables noirs from getting a goal against them. Jose Field in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kevan Grange, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Kevan Grange was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Jose Field capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jose Field really showed his touch with that goal: 2-4. Jose Field's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 81stth minute, Kevan Grange skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 83rd minute of the match, Jose Field got a very nice opportunity to score, but Kevan Grange was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 88 minutes, Vernon Lloyd mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO and the Les diables noirs players grew even worse after the yellow card.
