With 30 minutes on the clock, Leonardo Abadia commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Herminio Abechuco couldn't finish the play. 44 minutes into the match, Octavia's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Quilo came free, but Veronica Abella reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Veronica Abella stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benjamin Lizardi's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Benjamin Lizardi put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Veronica Abella. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Osoro Abalos to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Octavia defense, Rodrigo Bastia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Veronica Abella. The Octavia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Veronica Abella should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Lizardi in the 79th minute of play forced Octavia's goalkeeper Veronica Abella to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 90 played minutes Octavia got a freekick which was hit by Osoro Abalos. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ezequiel Quiroga in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Veronica Abella saved Octavia from getting behind.
