With an all-out effort, El Retorno de Palermo's Vladimiro Barroso threw himself towards the right post 5 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rigoberto Anaya, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. El Retorno de Palermo were awarded a corner in the 7th minute after AD Pontassolense's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cornelio Itzaina took the corner. The corner led El Retorno de Palermo's Cornelio Itzaina to fire away a dangerous shot which Vladimiro Barroso despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 8th minute, Vítor Patrício left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AD Pontassolense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Amancio Urtats took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Palhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute, Joaquim Palhares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amancio Urtats was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in El Retorno de Palermo's zone, Joaquim Palhares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amancio Urtats came out of the goal and Joaquim Palhares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 19 minutes into the match, El Retorno de Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Vítor Patrício came free, but Amancio Urtats reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 26 minutes, Vítor Patrício managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AD Pontassolense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vítor Patrício was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ismael Musko during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Amancio Urtats showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Palhares in the 36th minute of the match. Amancio Urtats made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vítor Patrício in the 42nd minute of play. Vítor Patrício scored 0-3 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amancio Urtats, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ismael Musko to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd minute Fernando Portela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amancio Urtats saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gabriel Amado fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AD Pontassolense's protests and gave Gabriel Amado a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th minute, Gabriel Amado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Cornelio Itzaina hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. 70 minutes into the match, AD Pontassolense's goal looked a bit too open when Celestino Nataniel came free, but Vladimiro Barroso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 72 played minutes El Retorno de Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Celestino Nataniel. In the 74th minute Fernando Portela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amancio Urtats saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to El Retorno de Palermo getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Dionisio Eutor hit a great ball. Amancio Urtats was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Afonso Castanheira. Amancio Urtats showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Palhares in the 80th minute of the match. Rigoberto Anaya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, AD Pontassolense's goal looked a bit too open when Rigoberto Anaya came free, but Vladimiro Barroso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dionisio Eutor kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. A hard shot by Ronaldo Barbosa from long distance, 97 minutes into the match, got Amancio Urtats's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The El Retorno de Palermo supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching AD Pontassolense's performance. The match ended with a win for AD Pontassolense.
