In the 20th match minute, Blumenau Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silas Silva to maneuver through the defense. Vancouver Reds were furious when Cecil Rosario was red carded, 24 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 23rd minute, one of Vancouver Reds:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vancouver Reds. Quincy Minor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Branco having to interfere. Vancouver Reds's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Flávio Meireles scored to the left of an out of position Heriberto Walton, making the score, 3-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Délio Gerber during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bruno Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jarrett Poirier in the 38th minute of the match. Flávio Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Jarrett Poirier struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Bruno Branco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vancouver Reds. Vancouver Reds's Heriberto Walton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Baptista in the 59th minute of play. Heriberto Walton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erik Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Heriberto Walton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Baptista in the 65th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flávio Meireles in the 67th minute of play forced Vancouver Reds's goalkeeper Heriberto Walton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
