When Otto Björck fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BK Gubbhöft's protests and gave Otto Björck a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to BK Gubbhöft getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Otto Björck hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otto Björck in the 7th minute of play forced Şamaxı Bankirlər's goalkeeper Péter Čech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Şamaxı Bankirlər's Péter Čech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joacim Låsberg in the 8th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Şamaxı Bankirlər's Usub Äzizov got a free kick in the 9th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Şamaxı Bankirlər's goalkeeper Péter Čech had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joacim Låsberg. 10 minutes into the match, Otto Björck notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Şamaxı Bankirlər's Péter Čech. Péter Čech was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joacim Låsberg kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Şamaxı Bankirlər's Loğman Hacibabayev got a free kick in the 24th minute. After 26 minutes of play, BK Gubbhöft's Otto Björck made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Péter Čech was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dennis Enström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Péter Čech tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Folke Hybbert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Älibala Abayev, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Péter Čech made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alf Benet in the 40th minute. After 42 played minutes Şamaxı Bankirlər got a freekick which was hit by Çärkäz Dünyamaliyev. Otto Björck blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Péter Čech having to make a save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joacim Låsberg to make the kick off. Péter Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Enström in the 53rd minute of the match. Älibala Abayev charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Älibala Abayev the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of BK Gubbhöft booed when Şamaxı Bankirlər was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Älibala Abayev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Péter Čech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alf Benet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes into the match, Şamaxı Bankirlər's goal looked a bit too open when Joacim Låsberg came free, but Péter Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Şamaxı Bankirlər's Péter Čech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alf Benet in the 62nd minute of play. In the 72nd minute Otto Björck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Péter Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
