The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Wade Stacy came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Charlotte FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wade Stacy couldn't finish the play. Tim Zondervan scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jessie Amos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jessie Amos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tim Zondervan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the game, De Ontembare Leeuwen's Tim Zondervan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jessie Amos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Johnathan Mohr blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bram de Backer having to make a save. Jessie Amos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tim Zondervan went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The supporters of De Ontembare Leeuwen booed when Charlotte FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Percy Mahoney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tim Zondervan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 25th minute Tim Zondervan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jessie Amos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Charlotte FC defense, Tim Zondervan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jessie Amos. The Charlotte FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jessie Amos should have stopped the shot. In the 33rd minute Tim Zondervan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jessie Amos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Charlotte FC's Terence Quinn slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bram de Backer. That made the score 1-4 after 34 minutes of play. After 38 minutes, Terence Quinn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Charlotte FC and the De Ontembare Leeuwen players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of De Ontembare Leeuwen booed when Charlotte FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terence Quinn didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute Nathan Haken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jessie Amos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jessie Amos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tim Zondervan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 42 minutes, Percy Mahoney mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Charlotte FC and the De Ontembare Leeuwen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Charlotte FC's Percy Mahoney got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

Jessie Amos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tim Zondervan in the 54th minute of the match. Jessie Amos was a little too slow when Hans Kuypers got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 1-5. Wade Stacy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bram de Backer having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dalton Ash during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilfred Tollenaar got free with Jessie Amos in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jessie Amos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tim Zondervan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hans Kuypers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jessie Amos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tim Zondervan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-7 in the 78 minute of play. Nathan Haken's late challenge caught a Charlotte FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nathan Haken helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to De Ontembare Leeuwen getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Nathan Haken hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the game, Wilfred Tollenaar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-8. Jessie Amos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tim Zondervan struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Jessie Amos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for De Ontembare Leeuwen. De Ontembare Leeuwen played a much better game than Charlotte FC and deserved their victory. The Charlotte FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
