Spectators: 7476 (Terracing: 5608, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 149) Charlotte FC's Wade Stacy started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Moisés Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Jessie Amos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Moisés Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jessie Amos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moisés Godoi in the 7th minute of play. After 8 played minutes Charlotte FC got a freekick which was hit by Dalton Ash. After a defensive mix-up in Matadores FC's zone, Wade Stacy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo da Silva came out of the goal and Wade Stacy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 21 played minutes Matadores FC got a freekick which was hit by Kléberson Vaz. 24 minutes into the game, Carlos Valle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Matadores FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Charlotte FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Matadores FC's Carlos Valle got a free kick in the 24th minute. Jessie Amos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moisés Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 40 minutes of play, Charlotte FC's Johnathan Mohr made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulo da Silva was left in no man's land by his defense there! Paulo da Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Terence Quinn in the 45th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terence Quinn in the 46th minute of play forced Matadores FC's goalkeeper Paulo da Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Charlotte FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Moisés Godoi to make the kick off. Wade Stacy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Paulo da Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Kléberson Vaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wade Stacy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo da Silva having to interfere. Paulo da Silva didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 68th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. Matadores FC's Hélio Maciel managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Stewart Shaver in the 71 minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stewart Shaver during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Stewart Shaver kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Jessie Amos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Carlos Valle hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute, Johnathan Mohr hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rafa Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jessie Amos having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Percy Mahoney during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Charlotte FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Percy Mahoney hit a great ball. Johnathan Mohr struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Paulo da Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Charlotte FC. Charlotte FC were furious when Bobby Miranda was red carded, 92 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 92nd minute, one of Charlotte FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Charlotte FC. The referee gave Matadores FC a penalty, 95 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Carlos Valle, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Charlotte FC's Jessie Amos. 1-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Charlotte FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
